Chicago Porch Sessions
So, here we are, with shelter in place, uncertain times ahead, stuck at home. But, the good news came beginning of May that photographers in Illinois were given permission to photograph porch sessions! So, I received some requests to take Chicago porch sessions for some existing clients, and I jumped on it!
Neighbors in a Cul-de-sac for porch photos
Fortunately, three families came together on the same day for some adorable porch photos at their homes. And, since are are in quarantine, and hopefully someday look back at this time, many families want to capture these memories for a lifetime. So, I social distanced myself, and photographed these three adorable families!
First, I went to this adorable family’s house. I loved their porch! Gerbera daisies, a welcome pillow, and smiles welcomed me from afar at this porch session. Truthfully, as I saw their smiles, I wondered if they were as happy to see me, as I was to see them! I am happy because I was back doing what I love again. And, it’s so welcoming to see smiling faces, other than my husband!
His smile makes my heart happy! Fortunately, it was a gorgeous day outside for these sessions! Now, I know parents are worried about hair cuts and outfits during quarantine and trying to schedule a photo shoot. Honestly, it doesn’t matter. All my clients are adorable. And, that’s the point of the porch sessions. It’s an honest look at what shelter in place looked like for each family.
Now, I brought all my lenses so that I could keep my social distance. And, the sun was shining, so we found a shaded area in this family’s yard.
Now, here is family #2 at our Chicago porch sessions. I loved their railing, with the steps on the side. And, the beautiful pots that, luckily, it was warm enough to have planted already!
I loved these colors and outfits choices that Mom made, along with the flowers! Although, these aren’t my typical spring outdoor sessions, I just love how these sessions turned out! Coronavirus has definitely turned our world upside down, for everyone, but with these little, sweet smiles, it takes you away and you forget for a minute what is going on in the world!
Here, we moved into their yard, as well, along with the porch. I wanted to give each client different images and backdrops to choose from. Fortunately, each of my clients receives all the best images from their session, for any session. This way, each client chooses what they want to display in their home, or post on social media, based on their preference.
Now, here is the third and final family that I shot from this cul-de-sac. The sunshine looked so good on them, and felt so good to all of us at this session. I love that Mom and Dad had matching and coordinating outfits all ready to go for their porch session!
Here, this beautiful family had a gorgeous area, beyond their, porch, for some photos!
Honestly, I am so happy that I was able to capture these raw, photojournalist images at this session! I love these raw moments so much!
To end our porch sessions, all families gathered, six feet apart, in their cul-de-sac for combined family photos. In these uncertain times, it was so nice to see so many happy people, gathering, but socially distant, and embracing the times and the moment. I hope you enjoyed as much as I did!
