Chicago Newborn Photo Session
Oh, my! I can’t stop looking at these images from gorgeous Oliver’s Chicago newborn photo session. As a Chicago newborn photographer, I always hope that when a newborn comes to my studio, he is as awesome as Oliver and his family were! Luckily, this handsome little ball of joy was just perfect at his session!
Before families come to my studio, I plan their session. I always start with family shots first. This way, if there is a sibling that may not be super excited about photos, we get those done with quickly. I plan colors that I want to use, or that the parents have mentioned ahead of time that they like. For this session, I just had a feeling about the greens and the tans, and with Oliver’s skin tones, these colors turned out awesome!

It was very tough for me to choose a few limited photos from this session, so I overloaded here! I am warning you here-Oliver will give everyone baby fever! So look at your own risk 🙂
I just can’t get over this adorable family! Big sister is SO proud, and so helpful! These family shots will be cherished by this family forever!
I love capturing moments like this. Everyone says that babies grow up so fast…so we need to remember these moments. Oliver loved being swaddled, so he was safe and comfy in mommy and daddy’s hands. And getting kissed was a bonus!
I have to say, this photo needs to be blown up in a big canvas or print. This moment was just captured by chance. Big sister was so excited and proud to hold her baby brother. But his smile, was true, unplanned, and captured! Success!
What did I tell you all?! I just can’t even believe that these images happened-sheer perfection! I am so proud to present these images to this family! It really and truly doesn’t get any better than this! I love my flokati-apparently big sister and baby brother do as well! This beautiful moment with these siblings makes my heart sing!
Once we finish with the family and sibling photos, we move on to just the baby. And look at how we started! Newborn photographers prefer sleepy babies-I am one of those! But, if you can get a photo like this, of an adorable baby wide awake, alert, and smirking, it’s a triple bonus!
Can you even believe this little nugget? I just want to eat him up, he’s SO cute! This little boy was SO good at his session. He made my job as a Chicago newborn photographer so easy. He loved being swaddled (yes, you hear it all the time from me, a newborn photographer’s magic tool), so we went with that! Keep him comfortable, and keep those baby smiles coming, too!
Eventually, it was time for sweet Oliver to take a nap! So I wrapped him up in green tones, and got this adorable photo! I have so many bonnets, bows (bows for DAYS in the studio), wraps..you name it! These are all offered at all of my newborn sessions at my professional Chicago photography studio. I choose colors/ideas before families come, to have some ideas. But, it’s always an option once my families come, if they see something else they want to use, we use it!
His hair. Those cheeks. Tiny little lips. Those tiny fingers.
I love this color combination with baby boy Oliver, too. It just really features his skin and hair colors, which I love!
Next, we moved on to props. Again, those tan/brown tones with his hair and skin are great! I love all things rustic and natural, including this color combination!
This “love you to the moon and back” prop is one of my new props, and absolutely one of my favorites! All the Mamas love it, too! Green tones with this prop, and floor, are my favorite!
One of my signatures is giving my moms and dads these images that will never be this tiny again. I love wrapped up feet like this. Those toes don’t stay long forever, so I love to capture these memories.
