Baby Photography Near Me

People often ask their friends, “who takes your gorgeous pictures?” Especially, after they have either been to that friend’s home and see their professional photos displayed in the home. Or, after they have seen their photos posted on social media.  Referrals are HUGE for my business, because friends typically have the same taste amongst each other. They see their friend’s newborn session, or family session, and want something similar for their newborn or family photos. And, sometimes, people Google search for a photographer. Baby photography near me will hopefully bring those clients to me, if they live in the Chicagoland area!

I love my job as a professional  photographer

I know that this is a repeat statement made by me. But, it’s true! I love my job! With these uncertain times we are in right now, I realize that I love my job even more. I miss seeing babies. It’s sad that there aren’t any newborn snuggles in my studio. I miss the proud, tired, joyous newborn parents. I miss booking up my calendar with family outdoor sessions for the spring.

Bringing newborn sweetness to you

This blog is meant to bring sweetness in these times. Cora, this gorgeous newborn, visited my studio a few weeks ago. Her big sister was SO proud having that title! I love when there are siblings at a newborn photo session, because I try to make them feel so important and helpful during the session. Fortunately, Cora was the last baby I saw before this virus hit, and we’ve been instructed to stay at home. I say fortunately, because she was so sweet and easy to pose and work with. Although, having such an easy, sleepy baby to work with makes it a little harder, too, because I want all the sweet, sleepy, gorgeous babies to come visit me right now, and they can’t.  I went overboard here with some photos from Cora’s newborn photo session, because I couldn’t choose!

Be still, my heart! Big sister, with her gorgeous curly hair, and her sweet smile, looking so proud, holding her newborn sister. She’s got a big job ahead of her as the big sister, but something tells me she knows exactly what she’s doing. And, she will be great at the big sister role!

I am not sure what I love more in this photo…the sweet sister kisses going on? Or, the little innocent toe holding that big sister has going on here! I love little kid toes! I love when little kids and babies play with those little toes! And, I happened to capture it in this photo, not posted, not meaning to! I also love how you can see both sisters’ hands here. Baby’s hand is peeking out from the swaddle, and big sister’s hand is holding on to her little sister.

I just loved the innocence and joy in these photos with the sisters. I loved the colors of the bed with their skin and hair tones. Big sister just really wanted to hang on to her baby sister, and cuddle her all day!

Obsessed with her newborn perfection! The tiny fingers swaddled in her wrap, her cute little mouth ,the headband on her perfect head. She was absolute perfection! So easy to pose since she slept the entire session. She loved being swaddled, which is great for a photographer. She was easy to transition, too. Some babies make it hard on photographers when they don’t like moving from one position to another, and wake themselves up during that transition.

After a session, I always present my clients with a color and black and white option of almost each photo in their session. Some people prefer color, and some prefer black and white. This way, it’s their decision which photos to display in their home, post on social media, or share with family and friends. I always think black and white looks so classic and perfect, especially on a brand new baby!

I use this color green on babies with a similar complexion. And, this color was great with her skin and hair tones. Of course, I love that headband, too!

Sometimes, babies don’t want to be on their bellies, even at this early newborn age. Here, Cora was a sweet angel baby and basically let me pose her however I wanted. I love this pose, so we went with it!

I love this bed prop, so I swaddled her up, and got some photos here. And, I personally love this hat and wrap combination. I love all things rustic and vintage, and this hat and wrap combination gives me all those feels!

Usually, the moms go nuts for the bucket photos. Here, I added the adorable bear ears bonnet and some pinks for this photo.

And, I absolutely loved her in purples. Here, she’s in the basket prop, with some soft purple tones, which complimented her skin tone, too. I told you, she was the perfect newborn! Of course, she is so beautiful, and looked great in all my colors and props I offer at my Chicago newborn photography studio!

I went back to the greens for the bowl prop photos. Of course, I am in love with her toes sticking out in the wrap, along with her fingers.

And, we ended the session in the wood moon prop, which is one of my new favorite props to use at newborn sessions. Typically,  Moms and Dads love it, too!
