In home Chicago baby photography photoshoot
I am in love with this sweet boy, Liam! His parents are friends of mine, so I took them up on the offer to do an in home Chicago baby photography photoshoot. Truthfully, I don’t always photograph baby’s at home. And, in home Chicago photography session can be tough for a few reasons. First of all, it’s hard with lighting. Second, it’s hard to give people photos that don’t look like what they see in my portfolio. Also, since I don’t shoot many home photoshoots, they don’t get to see what the end product looks like before booking. And, all my props, materials, clothing, etc. is all at the studio, so it’s easier to just shoot in studio. But, I was doing a friend a favor, and went to their house in Chicago to photograph baby Liam. And, I am really so happy that I did!
Luckily, sweet Liam’s nursery was a dream! The lighting was spectacular! Of course, that helped a lot! And, Liam is a doll baby, so that made it super easy and fun, too! Please, enjoy Liam’s squishiness!

World, here is Liam! I told you he’s adorable! Seriously obsessed with this rug in his nursery! Honestly, I want it in my house! Mom chose a super cute outfit, too, to go along with the photo shoot! And, Liam’s perfect little facial features are an added bonus to my job!
Here’s it’s basically like I said “Say cheese,” and he followed! SUPER cute baby!
This photo is just too much! His little smirk. The grabbing of the toes. I want this baby!!!
In all seriousness, I always love capturing those little toes and feet. They don’t stay little and cute for long 🙂 When babies realize that they have feet, and enjoy grabbing them, I love capturing that. It’s little moments like that with babies that Moms and Dads forget that they used to do all the time. And, here is the photographic evidence 🙂
So, at my phothshoots, I love photos of baby’s face with the feet. But, I also love just the feet. Like I said, they don’t stay cute and little and adorable feet for long!
And, one final shot on the rug, just because! Here, Liam looks so big, yet so little. He looks so stretched out, like showing me how tall he is. Yet, he’s still such a little 4 month old baby 🙂 And, like I mentioned, I love this outfit, so I wanted to feature the entire outfit, too.
After we got a bunch of shots on that rug I love so much, we moved to the crib. I love featuring and showing, in a lifestyle photo shoot, the crib. This is the heart of the nursery. I know most babies don’t start in their cribs. But, they usually end up here. In their own space. In his own room. His beautiful, super lovable nursery. I love love love his sheets, too, in his crib. Mom’s style is right up my alley!
I told you, the cutest crib sheets ever! Truthfully, I am in love with this nursery. And, the baby that it belongs to! During my sessions, I try and compliment my colors with baby’s skin tone. Here, Mom did it for me! The sheets with the outfit really match well with Liam’s skin and hair tones!
During a lifestyle photoshoot, I like to show different aspects of the home or room we are featuring. A lot of time is spent at a baby’s changing table. Here, it was an added bonus for me because the lighting was awesome! And, again, Liam is grabbing for those toes, which I love!
Here, may be one of my favorite hand and toe photos ever! Luckily, the lighting was right. And, Liam had the perfect grip on those toes. And, I was able to get the perfect hand and foot shot!
Oh my goodness, Liam’s little face and determination in this photo melts my heart! He wants that ring tower so bad, and is just so smiley about it!
Here, Liam is peeking at me through the door. He looks like he’s wondering what I am doing! And, he really is just concerned about getting over to that toy! Also, I just love the look of looking into his nursery from the doorway.
Finally, one last shot in the nursery. Here, Liam is relaxing in his reading corner. And, I am sure lots of cuddles, snuggles, feeding, reading and relaxing happen in this chair. Honestly, I am so glad that I went out and shot this lifestyle session! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
